Serbian Goran Lovre struck Barnsley’s winning goal against Coventry City this afternoon, his second of the season.

With the scores level at 1-1 in the 57th minute, Garry O’Connor flicked on an Adam Hammill cross for Lovre to plant his shot beyond the Sky Blues ‘keeper Westwood’s reach and send the home crowd into raptures.

Barnsley had been without a win in 3 games previously and Coventry without one in five, but it was the Reds who came out on top in a fast, end to end Championship encounter.

There had been calls for Lovre to be dropped for Garry O’Connor, who was available after making his move to Barnsley permanent on January 1st, but it was Andy Gray who made way for the Scot, leaving Lovre to continue his role behind the centre forward and notch the winner.
