Following the speculation linking us with Amiens winger Harrison Manzala, it has been reported that he arrived in the country last night for talks with Barnsley.

The 23 year old has impressed in the French Ligue 1 this season, scoring twice and providing two assists as they sit 13th in the table.

Manzala was born in France but plays for DR Congo’s Under 23 side and should the club capture him he would give head coach Paul Heckingbottom good options as he can play anywhere across midfield but is predominantly known as a right winger.

He began his playing career at Bastia before spending time with Le Harve and he has four youth international caps to his name.

With previous speculation linking us with a move for the player, the fact he has now arrived in the country does imply agreement is close.

Sky also lean on sources at the club who have confirmed the previously speculated interest in Oxford United goalkeeper Simon Eastwood. The club have confirmed we had an offer for the 28 year old rejected but it remains to be seen if we go back in with a better offer.
