Barnsley have sacked yet another manager after David Flitcroft became the latest casualty at Oakwell.

Flicker`s departure now means that the reds are searching for their 8th boss in 10 years.

Flitcroft survived only 10 months in the Oakwell hot seat. It is the shortest reign at the helm since Gudjon Thordarson lasted 10 months in 2003/04.

Technical coach Martin Scott and strength and conditioning coach Guy Proctor have also left the club.

Assistant manager Micky Mellon takes temporary charge and will be assisted by development coach Paul Heckingbottom.

The club have said there will be no more announcements until Wednesday 4th December.
