Barnsley look to collect first points of the Championship season against Nottingham Forest this evening.

It’ll be another tough game, which Paul Heckingbottom is aware of, but the Reds boss feels if a similar performance to that shown against Ipswich is seen a positive result could be witnessed when Forest are faced at Oakwell.

He told the Official Website: ‘I’m expecting another tough game. I’m expecting a similar performance from us but with the right result this time.’

Adding: ‘If we play like we did on Saturday then I expect us to win the game. Saturday was the first time this season I’ve stood on the touchline and been happy with lots of things. So I know the progression is there.’

If this is to happen Barnsley will have to make more of the chances created as failure to take them proved costly on Saturday.

Meanwhile, Adam Jackson has reflected on a frustrating start to the campaign.

He told the Official Website: ‘It’s been a frustrating couple of weeks really. I don’t think we deserved to lose on Saturday especially. Apart from that really poor spell at Bristol we’ve played some good stuff at times, especially in the first half against Morecambe and then on Saturday I think we should have scored more than we did.’

But he remains confident things will fall into place and the results will soon be seen.

Adding: ‘I think it’s starting to click though, we’re getting there and hopefully the results will come sooner rather than later. It’s a team game and we all attack and defend together, there’s no pointing fingers here.’
