Barnsley will have to hand Blackpool £750,000 in order to sign midfielder Brad Potts, according to HITC Sport.

It has been claimed by sources close to the club, Blackpool not Barnsley, Potts wouldn’t be sold for anything less, having already turned down previous bids for the former Carlisle midfielder.

Potts, who scored an impressive 13 goals last season and set up almost as many, helped Blackpool gain promotion from League Two via the 2-1 play-off final win over Exeter – he scored one and set up the other in the Wembley final too.

Blackpool wouldn’t be looking to sell Potts, 23, but like every player he has a price.

You would think with him viewed as one of the best midfielders in the lower leagues Potts wouldn’t be short of interest too.

Will Barnsley meet the Potts asking price? The Tykes have reportedly seen a £500,000 offer for the midfielder turned down with it unclear at this point if an improved offer, closer to, if not matching the Blackpool valuation, will be made.
