Barnsley 0 Blackpool 1: Davey’s reaction

Barnsley manager Simon Davey told the media his thoughts in the post-match press conference of the Tykes` 1-0 defeat to relegation rivals, Blackpool.

A despondent Davey said:

“We are very disappointed and it was not a good game for us. The conditions were poor but we just did not play well. I thought it could have gone either way and we are disappointed to lose at home.”

“It was not the result or performance we were looking for. It was a big game for us and we did not step up to the plate.

“We have eleven matches left and we have to bounce back. We have to do that now on Tuesday.”

Despite forcing twelve corners, the Reds failed to capitalise on a number of set-pieces:

“We had possession, chances, corners and free-kicks but just couldn`t get one over the line. Nothing fell for us today and we would not have scored if we were still out there now. We have to put that to bed on Tuesday night,” Davey continued.

“We will not look at the table. That only matters on May the fourth and we still have three matches in hand on some teams. We have to make sure we get points from those.”

On Tuesday, Neil Warnock brings his Crystal Palace side to Oakwell in what is a vital game for the Reds.
