Barnsley beat Blackpool 2 – 0 to give Danny Wilson his first win as manager this time round.

Chris O`Grady scored both goals in thoroughly deserved win for the reds. His first was a penalty and the second one was with his head.

After missing his last penalty by tamely trying to place it, O`Grady went back to basics to smash the ball in after the Blackpool had brought Dawson down.

The penalty looked to have given O`Grady some confidence and he was on the score sheet again just after half time. O`Grady has struggled for form since his return from injury so hopefully this brace will get him going on.

Barnsley were well worth their 2 – 0 victory and there were some impressive performances from a number of players in this victory.

Steele was excellent and it was nice to see him get a clean sheet. McLaughlin looks a good acquisition at right back. Jennings looks like a new player; his spell at MK Dons has done him the world of good.

O`Brien was excellent and so were two players that are the current targets for the hate mob, Dawson and Kennedy.

Ramage is the one that worries me from the team that started on Saturday and I would like to see Nyatanga come in to partner Cranie at centre half.

The talk amongst the crowd before the game was regarding what seemed a baffling decision to only select six substitutes. We have later found out that Cywka should have been on the bench but there was mistakenly missed off the submitted team sheet.

However, many senior pros were missing from the match day squad and with no news of injuries so I think we can expect the January exodus to continue.

As for Blackpool, to put it frankly they are a disgrace. It`s easy to see why they have had so many disciplinary problems this season.

From the assistant manager man handling the referee at half time to a player running back on to the pitch without permission in an attempt to put off the marauding Jennings, it`s things that you just shouldn`t see in football.

As for Tom Ince, he really does believe his hype. He is probably the most arrogant footballer I have seen at Oakwell for a number of years and on the form he showed against Barnsley, he is only a Championship player at the very best.

This win will hopefully give the reds the confidence they need to put together a winning run that will ensure we are in the Championship for another season.
