A Nyatanga header and an own goal by the substitute goalkeeper secured all three points for the reds in a performance every bit as poor as the Fleetwood defeat which saw Danny Wilson lose his job.

Fortunately for Barnsley they were up against a terrible Crewe side that never really looked like causing the reds any problems. Having said that, Barnsley also struggled to create chances and had to rely on a set piece and a keeper O.G to seal the points.

The team selection seemed strange with Hourihane on the right and Scowen on the left but Scowen was outstanding and the lack of wingers performing well enough to be selected is a worry.

Jennings rang in sick on the morning of the match. This lad needs his wages stopping until he sorts his fat a*** out. He has all the talent in the world but seems destined for the football scrap heap because he lacks the desire required to succeed and can`t keep out of Best Kebab. I`m sure reality TV show Secret Eaters would snap him up if football isn`t for him anymore.

He should be tearing this league apart but something has gone really wrong somewhere. All joking aside, the next manager needs to be able to sort him out or the club need to cut their losses in the summer.

Waring and Oates should be given the opportunity to start up front next game. Both looked lively when they came on and did more in a short period of time than Hemmings and Lita did all game.

Hemming has had enough chances now and just isn`t good enough at this level I am sorry to say.

On the manager front there are rumours that the front runners are now Adkins, Rossler and Di Canio.

Adkins is the stand out candidate for me but I`m not sure if he would want to risk his reputation by coming to this shambles.
I also think Rossler would be a decent shout but Di Canio is not for me. His spell at Sunderland makes me think he is not fit to be a manager at all.

Make no mistake, the players at Oakwell need a big kick up the ringer but Di Canio is just too much. I think that his man management style can only alienate players rather give them the kick that they need.

Adkins for me or failing that I`d bring in Hill as manager with Flitcroft as his assistant and Danny Wilson as director of football.
