Barnsley supporters will be delighted to hear the news that defender Stephen Foster has signed a new contract at Oakwell.
Foster, who signed from Burnley last season, has had a fantastic career at Oakwell so far. ‘Mr Consistent’, Fozzy has made 61 appearances, bagging five goals.
Foster told www.barnsleyfc.co.uk:
‘I am very, very happy to have agreed a longer deal with Barnsley Football Club. I believe that this is the right club for me and it is fantastic to have everything agreed.’
The 28-year-old won the ‘player of the season’ award during his first spell at Oakwell.
Foster continued:
‘The fans have been fantastic during my time at Oakwell. They have shown a lot of belief in me and picking up so many awards at the end of last season was a massive honour. I appreciate their backing and want to repay that with performances on the pitch.’
Meanwhile, the centre-half has been tipped to become full-time captain of the Reds for the rest of the Championship campaign.
