Barnsley are represented in the latest Football League team of the week that has been selected after this week’s action.

The performance by Conor Hourihane in Barnsley’s three two victory over Colchester United at the Colchester Community Stadium at the weekend was enough to earn them a place in the side alongside the other most impressive performers in the Football League pyramid.

I think we’ll already know ourselves, and not just based on the latest performance, why Hourihane was selected as part of the team but explaining the choice – the FL blurb read.

‘A day of drama continued at Colchester United, where Barnsley overcame the U’s 3-2, with Hourihane instrumental for the Tykes. He rolled in the opener when the ball fell to him in the box, and his sublime pass put Adam Hammill in to get the visitors well on their way to victory.’

It’s always good to see us represented in this way, and well played to Hourihane for his recognition, but the most important thing about the weekend was of course the three points.

Full Team:

Frank Fielding (Bristol City), Damien McCrory (Burton Albion), Tom Aldred (Blackpool), Luke Chambers (Ipswich Town), Alfie Potter (Northampton Town), Liam Noble (Notts County), Conor Hourihane (Barnsley), Danny Mayor (Bury), Rhys Murphy (Crawley Town), Marc McNulty (Portsmouth), Francois Zoko (Yeovil Town).

Manager – Shaun Derry (Cambridge United).
