Scunthorpe United have signed out-of-favour Barnsley striker Kayode Odejayi on-loan for one month.
The League One outfit were keen to snap up the Nigerian to bolster their frontline in a bid for promotion to the Championship.
However, Barnsley manger Simon Davey hasn`t ruled out an Oakwell future for the Ibadon-born striker.
Talking to the Sheffield Star, Manager Simon Davey said:
‘It is a good scenario for us because Kayode will be able to go out and get some games, and hopefully some goals.”
The 27-year-old has struggled for goals this season, with only one strike coming against Sheffield United back in November.
Davey continued:
‘Hopefully he will get some confidence in the next month and come back refreshed. Going to Scunthorpe, who are chasing promotion, is an ideal move for him. ‘
However, Barnsley manger Simon Davey hasn`t ruled out an Oakwell future for the Ibadon-born striker.
‘Kayode has a future here and still has another year on his contract.’
The 27-year-old will go straight into the squad for the Iron`s clash with fellow promotion pushers Leeds United in tomorrow`s League One clash.
