Barnsley have completed signing of Paddy McCourt on a deal until the end of the season.

The 29 year old winger spent last season at Celtic and is a Northern Ireland international.

Barnsley boss David Flitcroft knows all about what McCourt can offer with the pair of them having played together at Rochdale.

Flicker is delighted to have landed is man particularly with McCourt turning down an astronomical offer from abroad to join the reds.

On paper again he looks like potentially a good signing if Flicker can work his magic and get the best out of him.

The squad is certainly taking shape and when everyone is fit there is serious competition for places. So much so that there will be some very good players who won`t even make the match day squad.

Hopefully we will find the right combination to get results in this league and it doesn`t take us until Christmas to start playing again.
