Barnsley have had a bid rejected for Chris O`Grady as Sheffield Wednesday now say they don`t want to sell him.

Barnsley boss David Flictcroft seemed to give up all hope of signing O`Grady. He had this to say in an interview with the star:

‘We put a bid in for Chris, but they turned us down. I don`t think a deal can be done now. We felt we made a good offer but they don`t want to sell him.

‘At the end of the day Chris has always been our number one target but we can`t wait around for ever. He`s a Sheffield Wednesday player so I`ve got be careful what I say.

‘We`ve got three or four good options and avenues we`re pursuing so we`ve got to move on; otherwise we`re going to get left behind.`

I don`t think this is the last we will hear in the Chris O`Grady saga and I think that both clubs are playing each other in order to get the best deal.

However something that Wednesday have done has upset Flitcroft or that is the impression I get from the comment about him having to be careful about what he says.

The deal could be dead. If it is it is a shame as Barnsley, Wednesday and O`Grady all want the same thing deep down.

If the deal is dead then there could be a chance of O`Grady back at Oakwell on a free transfer in the summer of 2014, until then I think there could be more twists and turns.
