Barnsley Rank Outsiders Again

I could just copy and paste from my article on this last year. Barnsley are rank outsiders for the title and promotion this coming season.

After five seasons back in football’s second tier since promotion in 2006, the Reds are the fifth longest standing club in the Championship in terms of current successive seasons, with only Cardiff, Coventry, Palace and Ipswich enjoying a longer current stay.

Yet Barnsley are still of the favourites for relegation, way out in last place at 100/1 to win the title with ladbrokes and in joint last place with Doncaster Rovers for the promotion race at 50/1 with Skybet.

As I said last year, it’s always worth a punt on the Reds, Blackpool were 150/1 to go up before their recent promotion season.

A joke those odds. I had you as my outsider last year as I really rated Robins, not sure now with Keith Hill but he knows the lower divisions well and he looks to have bought in some hungry players.
