Barnsley have signed left-sided player Mounir El Haimour from Swiss side NE Xamax for an undisclosed fee.

The 27 year old Frenchman seems to have solved Barnsley`s left sided problem, as El Haimour can operate at left wing-back or on the left wing.

Simon Davey told the club`s official website:

“Mounir is an exciting player and is naturally left sided so he will add something to our squad which we were missing last season.”

Mounir was born in Limoges, France and has bceome the first Frenchman to pull on a red shirt at Oakwell.

Davey continued:

“It is another big deal for this club and we are delighted to have brought him here.”

So Simon hasn`t surprised us by yet again delving into the foreign market.

Barnsley fans are now waiting on another striker and a central defender.

Barnsley was one team in the country I never expected to have so many foreign players on their books.
