This is the second time that Barnsley have said goodbye to Daniel Nardiello.
The 25 year old will not be offered a deal to stay at Oakwell after being on loan from QPR since the end of January.
The response from Simon Davey was short and sweet as he told the club’s official website:
‘We have let Daniel return to QPR and will not be pursuing a longer deal’.
After scoring nine goals during the end of last season to keep the Reds in the Championship, the Coventry born frontman opted to join the hoops instead of remaining at Barnsley.
However a multimillion pound takeover at Loftus road saw ‘Nards’ drop down the pecking order at the London club.
The Welsh international made his debut for the reds at Roots Hall in the FA Cup 4th round on the 26th January.
Unfortunately for Daniel, he only managed to hit the net once out of 13 appearances, a neat finish against champions West Brom in a 2-1 win at Oakwell.
Rumours are circulating that either Cardiff or Derby are to sign Nardiello in the summer. Chances are he will bang twenty goals in next season, wherever he is – that’s just Barnsley’s luck!
