Will the Reds cause the Blues to become Red All Over?
Basic Statistics :
In terms of recent form, Birmingham have lost 4 of their last 7 matches, winning at
Hillsborough & v QPR, and drawing on Tuesday at Huddersfield; as far as away form is
concerned, they have won 2, drawn 3 & lost 2.
In the last 10 meetings between the clubs at Oakwell (since 2001), Barnsley have won 2,
drawn 2 & lost 6! Statistics, eh! It’s a funny old game!
And there’s more:
Birmingham have scored 26 goals in 34 matches, conceding 42. Scott Hogan (6) is top
scorer in a team that seems to struggle to score. Indeed, they have only scored 7 goals in
their last 10 matches.
In comparison , we’ve scored 14 goals in our last 8 matches.
We welcome back ex-loanee, Gary Gardener, & Marc Roberts, Barnsley born, Barnsley bred. Marc
was a much-liked player & captain of our club & we will need to be aware of his long throws! I
remember his time with us well – the Barnsley trinity of Barnsley born owner (Patrick Cryne),
Barnsley born manager (Paul Heckingbottom) & Barnsley born captain (Marc Roberts) – something
unlikely to ever be repeated!
The 5 main members of the Red All Over YouTube show are feeling confident, all predicting a
Reds victory – Josh & I think 2-1, Joe 1-0, Kev 2-0 with Alan reckoning on a 4-0 thrashing of the
Blues. Now that’s confidence!
This optimism continues among the show’s subscribers & viewers – of 46 predictors at the time of
writing, 43 of us have predicted a Barnsley win, 3 a draw & a big fat Zero predicting a Barnsley
defeat! By heck!
Oh …. and we’ve now won 6 matches in succession, just in case you didn’t realise it!
COYR!
