Barnsley v QPR – Preview

Both sides are in the bottom half of the table on 40 points, separated only by goal difference.

Barnsley boss Simon Davey is without two key players for tonight`s big game, Brazilian midfielder Anderson De Silva is out with a knee injury and striker Daniel Nardiello is ineligible as he is on loan from tonight`s visitors.

Sam Togwell may be called up to fill the boots of De Silva in midfield, and it seems Jon Macken will return to the starting line-up after coming off the bench at Norwich. Although Simon Davey has to decide who shall partner Macken up front as both István Ferenczi and Kayode Odejayi are chomping at the bit.

Big spenders QPR have their main midfielder Ákos Buzsáky back from suspension and Gavin Mahon could be in contention for a start although he may need a late fitness test.

It was only over a month ago since the two sides met down in London, and Simon Davey will be looking to have bagged all the three points come the final whistle. One thing is for sure, it may be a cold February evening but I think the fans that do go to tonight`s game may just be in for a treat of a match?
