Barnsley without Silva lining

Barnsley are set to face big spenders QPR tomorrow without their Brazilian ace Anderson de Silva. The midfielder picked up a knee injury in the red`s defeat to Norwich at Carrow Road on Saturday.

The midfielder will have a scan on his knee in order to reveal the extent of the damage. Several options are available for manager Simon Davey, with Sam Togwell seemingly more than capable of filling in with a more defensive style of play, and with Lewin Nyatanga set to start in central defence, Davey may opt for Hassel in the middle and Stephen Foster at right back.

Another sour note that fellow Brazilian Dennis Souza will miss Saturday`s local derby with Sheffield Wednesday, after the defender picked up a fifth caution against Norwich at the weekend.

Jon Macken will be hoping for a start tomorrow night, as the reds have only managed to score three times in their last six games.

Let`s hope that the Barnsley boys will be boosted by some singing for a change at Oakwell, as the atmosphere has hardly been deafening recently.
