Andy Gray didn’t much like scoring for Nottingham Forest, with just one goal for them in the 76 appearances he made for the club.

He does, however, seem to love to score against them. He nodded in his fourth of the season this afternoon from a Trippier cross at the City Ground to double Barnsley’s lead and it was his second in as many games against his former employers.

It was also his 101st goal in senior football and now Mark Robins may face something of a selection headache on Monday, when new signing Garry O’Connor is available to lead the line, but dropping Gray would be harsh.

Robins praised Andy Gray for his performance and goal today: “We’ve been critical of Andy Gray, but today I thought he put a very very good performance in which is what he is capable of doing. He’s just got to maintain that and put that in more regularly.”
