Modou Barrow could be on his way to Oakwell before the end of the summer transfer window?

According to Football League World, which has credited ‘reliable journalist Alan Nixon’, Paul Heckingbottom has added Barnsley’s interest to the clubs looking at the Swansea forward.

Barrow, loaned to Leeds last season, but failing to make an impact in the Championship, is expected to leave Swansea and the Reds could battle with QPR and Reading for him.

Another attacking option is needed at Oakwell so Barrow’s experience from several loans in the Championship, playing for Blackburn and Nottingham Forest too, could work in Barnsley’s favour.

However, with Sky Sports previously reporting Reading could pay £1.25m to sign Barrow, 24, his asking price, not to mention Premier League wages, may be a sticking point for the Reds.

Alternatively, should Swansea retain a reported interest in Andy Yiadom, if personal terms were possible with Barrow, the Gambian international winger could form part of a potential deal to take Barnsley’s Ghanaian international to Wales?
