It’s being reported that Barnsley’s offer for Colchester United midfielder George Moncur has been rejected.

Sky Sports seem to have carried the original report, and they suggest we had gone in with a £400,000 offer for the player and whilst Colchester are resigned or happy to see him leave this summer, they are said to be holding out for around the half a million mark and not a penny less.

The 22 year old is said to have held initial discussions with us over a move to Oakwell, and signs are positive, but it’s down to us coming to an agreement with his club.

Back in May it was reported that amidst interest from Peterborough United and MK Dons, Charlton Athletic failed with a £150,000 offer.

The former West Ham youngster scored 14 times during 51 matches in 2015/16, and his overall record for the club is 23 goals in 97 games.
