Reds defender O’Neil Thompson played in his first game for Burton Albion on Wednesday night, a defeat to Port Vale.

The giant Jamaican has begun a loan spell at Burton after his first team chances became limited following the arrival of new boss Mark Robins. He played 90 minutes for them at the centre of defence but could not stop them slipping to a 3-1 defeat at the hands of Port Vale.

Former Red Marc Richards was on the scoresheet with a brace to boost Vale’s Play-Off hopes.
