On loan midfielder Josh Brownhill has agreed to join former gaffer Lee Johnson at Bristol City next season.

Having played 27 times for us last season, scoring three goals as we gained promotion to the Championship via the Wembley Play Off route, and with the season over the 20 year old returned to parent club Preston North End but rejected the offer on the table from them.

He will soon be a free agent and has agreed to the Bristol City move, scuppering hopes of securing him on a permanent deal at Oakwell.

Fans will no doubt be hoping that with speculation linking Johnson with moves for assistant Tommy Wright, Alfie Mawson and Adam Hammill that it isn’t the start of the promotion winning team being ripped up this summer, as continuity will be key ahead of the next campaign.
