I don’t think anyone can ever doubt the support and backing Lee Johnson has been given at Barnsley despite the ongoing troubles at Oakwell can they? With the Head Coach continuing to get backing as well!

For the second time this week, having been granted permission to bring in two players last week as well, Barnsley have moved into the transfer market again with Kevin Long arriving on loan.

This was announced on the Official Website earlier today.

Long, who is working his way back from a long-term injury with Burnley, has come to Oakwell on loan for a one-month spell, which will take him through until 19th December.

A move mutually beneficial for all concerned isn’t it?

The Irish defender, who absolutely no doubting about it will return to Turf Moor at the end of this loan – unlikely to be extended beyond a second month, if it even goes that far – is working his way back to full fitness after the best part of a year out injured, following an injury playing for Burnley in the Premier League last season.

A chance to play first-team football again is something he’s ‘itching’ to do, following his arrival the 25-year-old said.

‘I’m itching to play. I jumped at the opportunity to come out and play. The gaffer here is a genuine guy and I know one or two of the lads here. It’s a good fit for me.

‘Even if I didn’t know anyone here it’s still a big club with good training facilities, it was kind of an easy choice.’
