Butterfield Fee Agreed

Barnsley have accepted an improved offer from Norwich for Jacob Butterfield meaning that the transfer will no longer be settled by a tribunal.

Although at this moment I am unable to find an official figure, reports suggest that it is around £1 million.

If true it is a decent price for a player out of contract but far less than what he would have been worth if we had sold in January or he had longer to run on his contract.

The club have obviously felt that this was an offer worth accepting rather than risk what a tribunal would value him at.

I`m fairly happy with a figure of 1 million as I feared we would again resort to having to make a few hundred thousand.

Let`s hope this money is reinvested in the team to further strengthen for the coming season.
