Mark Robins has revealed that Barnsley’s Jamaican international winger Jamal Campbell-Ryce is a major doubt for the Reds’ trip to Pride Park on Tuesday.

Barnsley travel to their second away game in four days to face Derby County, following a fifth successive defeat in the Championship at Watford on Saturday, but may have to go without the services of play maker Campbell-Ryce.

Robins told the club’s official website: ‘Jamal has been taken to hospital with a pooling of blood in his eye. It does not look promising for Tuesday.’

Barnsley should have cover for the diminuitive Campbell-Ryce in the form of Adam Hammill and Martin Devaney, the latter one of the Reds’ most impressive performers on Saturday, playing against his former club Watford.
