It was reported yesterday evening that Colchester United had now agreed the transfer terms with Barnsley and Peterborough United for George Moncur.

Moncur has been a hot property this summer with a number of teams said to be interested in him, but the Swindon Advertiser reported last night that a deal was now close with both revised bids for the player being accepted.

Admittedly there are no quotes from anybody involved, but it was said a few days back that a £400,000 offer had been rejected for the 22 year old, with Colchester holding out for the half a million mark.

The report suggests that what both clubs have gone back in and now it’s down to personal terms.

In 2015/16 the midfielder scored 14 times during 51 matches to take his club record to 23 goals in 97 games.

If the report last night was right, I was imagine the day will see other details surface.
