A reported approach for Mark Cooper has been rejected according to the BBC.

Cooper, earlier this week, was said to be ‘the preferred option’ to succeed Danny Wilson but an apparent approach to speak to the Swindon manager has been declined…. This ends this one then?

Speaking of ‘declined’ we’ve refused to make comment on the stories that we’ve even made an approach, let alone that we’ve had an approach turned down as the search goes on but it looks like we can add Cooper to the list that has seen John Sheridan ‘distance’ himself from the position too.

An interesting name being ‘tipped’ is Nigel Adkins with the Scunthorpe Telegraph highlighting the former Scunthorpe, Southampton and Reading manager as a favourite with the bookies – surprisingly down as third favourite.

This could be more as a measure of the likelihood of such a scenario perhaps? If he was interested though I think he would make a good option….
