The manager merry go round in the press continues, and we have now been said to have held talks with Swindon manager Mark Cooper and have an interest in former Reading and Southampton gaffer Nigel Adkins.

The Sheffield Star have reported that talks have taken place with Cooper, and ahead of their game against Crawley he said simply he wouldn’t comment on speculation, but since then Cooper has apparently been in the press to say that talks haven’t been held with the club and that non are planned.

In other news, Adkins is now being linked with us as well.

Having been out of management since his departure from Reading in December, it’s said he’s now keen to get back into the game after his three month break so his name has now been proposed by the bookies and picked up by the press – but there is nothing concrete in these suggestions.

As there isn’t with a lot of the other potential managers Barnsley have been linked with.

Caretaker bosses Mark Burton and Paul Hecklington have also given an indication that they are in the running for the permanent positions, with Burton saying that he’s just been told to focus on the job in hand, that he won’t be apply for the job as simply put ‘results will be my CV.’
