Davey: ‘Another point on the board’

“The conditions were very difficult. I felt we had enough chances to win the game and we were unfortunate not to go in at half time at least a goal up. We had three clear cut chances in the first half.

Barnsley will consider themselves unlucky not to have come away from the game with all the points after missing several chances throughout the ninety minutes;

“It`s a point gained but I`m disappointed we didn`t take all three points. At the end of the day it`s another point on the board.

Man of the match Jamal Campbell-Ryce put on a great defensive display in last night`s draw, something which the Tykes gaffer duly acknowledged;

“Jamal`s improved his all round game. His forward play is obviously evident to see. Likewise with all our wide men we need them working defensively as well, but his defending was exceptional.

The reds were without key midfielder Anderson De Silva in last night`s clash, Davey was unsure how long the Brazilian will be out of action;

“It`s not long term but he`s not going to be fit over the next week or so. He might need a slight operation on his knee but as for the extent of the operation we`re not sure.

Although there can be no complaints over the performance of Bobby Hassell during last night`s game, many reds fans will be cursing their luck over the absence of the Brazilian midfielder, particularly with key games ahead including Sheffield Wednesday and Chelsea.

So now all of the glory bandwagon fans will crawl out of their holes for Saturday`s derby against Sheffield Wednesday, but as long as they dust down their ‘ORA` shirts and don`t ask why Bruce Dyer isn`t playing, I won`t be complaining too much.
