Reports are rife at the moment that former Barnsley boss Simon Davey is set to be installed as the new boss of league two outfit Hereford United.

Vital Hereford in particular seems certain that the Swansea born manager is heading to Edgar Street, reporting that Davey quit Darlington: ‘Darlington Football Club have issued a formal statement confirming Simon Davey’s resignation as the Quakers manager.

This decision could be a precursor ahead of a move to Hereford United, but as yet there has been no official comment from the Bulls.’

The news comes as something of a shock since Davey had only just filled the vacant post at already relegation doomed Darlington in April.
