Davey’s Doncaster Delight

Reds boss Simon Davey gave his thoughts to the media following his side’s first double of the season.

Davey said:

‘The lads went about their business right in the first half. We had a lot of chances but came in at one nill, I’m a little bit disappointed we didn’t come in a little further in front.’

Jon Macken bagged the only goal of the game in the 42nd minute and Simon was aware of the threat Donny would pose in the second period:

‘They put us under pressure at times, but the lads stayed strong, and limited them to long range shots.

‘We have to be more resolute and nasty, a bit more stingey and professional. If we do that away from home, we can start picking up results.

‘That’s 10 points in five games, we’re now looking for 10 more points in the next five games.

‘The players have been criticised because of their results. I have belief in them but we can only improve and keep getting stronger.’
