It was a double delight on derby day for Barnsley fans as they sent Sheffield United down to League One and also retained their unbeaten record in the Yorkshire derbies this season.
The Reds travelled to Bramall Lane knowing that by stopping Sheffield United winning, they would effectively be condemning them to League One football next year.
Danny Haynes scored a brace as the Reds ground out a 2-2 draw to seal Sheffield United’s fate.
The Reds have taken four points from each of the local teams this season, drawing 2-2 with Sheffield United and Doncaster Rovers and 3-3 with Leeds United and beating Leeds United 5-2, Sheffield United 1-0 and Doncaster Rovers 2-0.
