Liam Dickinson has parted company with Barnsley Football Club, with the contract having been terminated by mutual consent.

Dickinson arrived from Brighton & Hove Albion last summer for £100,000 but never earned a run in the first team, making only 3 appearances from the bench in the league and one full start in the Carling Cup in August.

He was farmed out on loan by Mark Robins in the latter stages of the 2010/11 campaign, joining up with Walsall and later, current Reds boss Keith Hill at Rochdale.

Dickinson isn’t in Hill’s plans now however, as he looks to rebuild Barnsley’s squad for the new campaign.
