After claiming an assist last week in his first game for Walsall, on loan winger Martin Devaney scored his first goal for the Saddlers to rescue a point on the road against Dagenham & Redbridge.

Devaney joined the Saddlers on loan from Barnsley after manager Mark Robins announced his and Liam Dickinson’s availability.

Walsall were bottom of the league when Devaney linked up with them but an assist and a goal have helped them to four points in their last two games and they are now 21st, two points above bottom placed Leyton Orient.

With Devaney and Iain Hume in fine form for their respective clubs, Mark Robins could be tempted to recall them back to Barnsley. They’d both be more than welcome as far as I’m concerned.
