With the transfer windown fast approaching, speculation is rife about many Barnsley players’ futures with Nathan Doyle the name on everyone’s lips at the moment.

Doyle has been on loan at Oakwell since September and has impressed the fans and management alike with his performances in midfield. He will have to go back to Hull City on December 20th because the deal in September was an emergency loan but a permanent deal in January could be on the cards.

Kayode Odejayi could also be on the move in January, but in the other direction. The Nigerian striker has found form at Colchester United under their new manager Aidy Boothroyd whilst on loan from the Reds. He has been through a poor spell in his career at Barnsley, scoring just 7 goals in 75 appearances in his first two seasons with the club and with 6 goals in 10 for the U’s he could well be on his way there permanently.

Meanwhile, Julian Gray has left the club after a short spell under Mark Robins. He was on a month to month contract but started only one game for the Reds, making four substitute appearances.
