It’s being reported that Bolton Wanderers striker Conor Wilkinson is close to agreeing terms at Oakwell and that despite turning down two bids so far, an agreement is close with Barnet for defender Andy Yiadom.

Starting with Wilkinson, the Republic of Ireland under 21 international is said to already be in talks with us and it was hoped that a deal would be got over the line in the next 48 hours.

Manager Lee Johnson knows the player well having loaned him in from Bolton on two occasions during his time as gaffer at Oldham Athletic.

The 20 year old so far has 32 appearances to his name, with a return of four goals but in 2014-15 did make his Bolton first team breakthrough making seven appearances for them across all competitions.

Bolton themselves would only confirm that a fee had been discussed but that it hadn’t yet been agreed and nor was Wilkinson in talks with us yet.

As for 23 year old Yiadom who was named as the England C Player of the Year at the National Game Awards, was an ever present for Barnet as they won a third Conference title last year to see them return to League Two for 2015-16.

A club statement to the press read.

‘We can confirm that we have rejected two offers from Barnsley this summer for Andy Yiadom.’

Having made 42 appearances last year, and 134 since joining them from Braintree it’s believed we will soon go back in with a third bid that will be more akin to their valuation of him.
