Lloyd Isgrove has extended his loan from Southampton, Matty Templeton signs a new contract and Otis Khan joins on a free.

A round up of the weeks deals for Barnsley.

Southampton winger Lloyd Isgrove has extended his spell at Oakwell until the end of the current season.

The 23 year old has so far made 15 appearances for the club since coming in on loan, and speaking to the Official Site after extending his deal with us, he said prior to this weekend’s action.

‘I’m enjoying my time here working the gaffer and players. Playing week in, week out has helped improve my fitness. We’re improving as a group and I just felt extending my stay was the right thing to do. We’re looking up with three wins on the bounce. We’re taking each game as it comes and you never know where that may lead us.’

19 year old Matty Templeton has also extended his stay at the club by signing a new contract that will run to the summer of 2017, and Barnsley hold a 12 month further option on the player should we choose.

The Academy product has stepped up nicely to the Under 21s this year, and has been given his senior debut in the Capital One Cup back in August. His third appearance this year, at home to Blackpool, saw him score his maiden goal in stoppage time to give us all three points.

‘I`m really pleased to extend my stay here and just want to keep working hard. I`m enjoying my training and my football as there are some great coaches here. I`m grateful to everyone in the Academy and the gaffer for helping me so far. To make my home debut and score was a dream come true. I`m determined to work hard and make more memories like my home debut.’

Manager Lee Johnson added of his extension.

‘I’m really happy for Matty and he knows that the hard work starts now. He has some standout attributes and I’m delighted he has chosen to continue his development with us.’

Young goalkeeper, 17 year old Jack Walton also headed out on a loan spell for a month to Stalybridge Celtic. In August the Academy Player of the Year signed his first professional deal with us which runs until the summer of 2018.

Finally, 20 year old Otis Khan comes into the club as a free transfer.

The right sided attacking midfielder comes in following a successful trial and has signed an 18 month contract.

Having been released by Sheffield United, Johnson moved quickly to get his signature and said after his capture.

‘Otis did really well in his trial arranged by our recruitment team and we’re pleased he’s joined us. He excelled at Conference level recently with Barrow and this is a great opportunity for him to kickstart his career.’

The former Manchester United scholar has been handed the No 19 shirt at the club for this year, and he said himself.

‘I’m really happy to sign. It’s a really young squad and I’m happy to have the chance. I’m over the moon to be here. I’d say I’m an attacking midfielder who likes to create and score goals. I want to create opportunities for players and myself.’
