This is according to the Daily Star anyway!

Roberto Martinez has remained defiant John Stones isn’t going to be leaving Everton, which if he does the man Barnsley sold to Everton in 2013 for £3m would also net the Reds 15% of whatever fee comes in.

Despite the Toffees insistence Stones isn’t going to Chelsea, less likely Man United, reports claim Everton have tried to halve the sell-on clause Barnsley would get, which tends to suggest they’re still expecting an improved Chelsea bid for the England international?

The claims are the Premier League side attempted to tempt the Tykes into dropping the sell-on clause to 7.5% with an offer made to negotiate this agreement stuck just a couple of years back.

I heard Martinez speaking to the BBC on MotD and he doesn’t sound like a boss that’s in any shape of form planning on losing Stones before Tuesday’s deadline even though the 21-year-old had handed in a transfer request, which was refused.

Stones, at some point will leave Goodison Park you feel, if it’s in this transfer window it wouldn’t be completely unexpected but seems less likely….whenever it happens though the Reds will profit to the tune of 15% of whatever that fee will be, up to a whopping cut of 40m!
