Barnsley`s star midfielder Anderson de Silva will be making his long awaited return to action in the coming weeks.

The 26-year-old suffered a serious knee injury at Norwich back in February and has only just recovered to start full training.

The Red`s physio Matt Konopinski told barnsleyfc.co.uk:

“Anderson is back in full training and progressing well.”

The Brazilian is one of three Tykes players to have suffered a serious knee injury this year, others including ‘keeper Heinz Muller and young striker Michael Coulson.

Konopinski continued:

“He now needs to play games and I would expect to see him back in the reserves very soon. The game with Leeds (tonight) was just a little bit too soon and I wanted him to have a full week in with the squad. He could play in the next reserve team game though.”

Barnsley`s next reserve game, after tonight`s clash with Leeds Utd, will be away at Bradford City on Tuesday 30th September.
