Flicker Shakers Candidate

David Flitcroft is emerging as a front runner for the vacant hotseat at Gigg Lane, Flitcroft is known for his liking for modern coaching methods and tactics having served a good apprenticeship under Keith Hill. Flitcroft is 3/1 for the role, with former Red and current Bury caretaker manager Peter Shirtliff 11/10 favourite for the job.

38 year old Flitcroft spent 3 years at Gigg Lane and was a fans favourite at gigg lane, making 100 appearences before moving to play non league football.

Having spent 6 years working alongside Keith Hill it would be difficult for flicker to leave but will the offer of the ‘gaffers’ Job be too great for him to refuse?

Bury fans have been quoted stating:

Flitcroft fits the bill perfectly, young enthusiastic and knows the restraints of the club’.

If Flitcroft is the answer god knows what the question is.A disruptive influence who disgracefully went out of his way to undermine an innexperienced manager during his time at Bury,as far as I can see his main contribution to the ‘Hillcroft’ partnership has been limited to carrying the balls and cones while Hill got on with the coaching and managing.Andy Morrell would be a far more rational option,he’s actually run a football club, fairly successsfully too, unlike Flitcroft who would probably struggle to run a bath’
