Manager Lee Johnson’s second pre season friendly of the 2015-16 summer ended goal less last night.

The game at Nethermoor Park played out in good weather and whilst their were chances to break the deadlock, neither side could show that tough of ruthlessness to hit the net.

From the start of the game Barnsley were pretty bright in our second run out of the summer and good chances fell to both Winnall and Mawson within the opening seven minutes, but neither could capitalise.

Guiseley had their own chances as well and the best probably fell to Boshell on 26 minutes in the first period as he curled an effort wide from inside the box.

Five minutes before the half time break Johnson swapped Winnall for Abbott, in a move that saw Wilkinson pushed more up top, but I’m yet to find out if that was purely tactical or whether Winnall maybe picked up a knock.

Hopefully the former.

The first half was probably the pick of the two though, although chances did fall in the second period.

Guiseley AFC:

Drench (Stewart 63), Toulson, Lowe, Hatfield, Lockwood, Lawlor, Brooksby, D. Boshell, Boyes, N. Boshell (Boulding 53), Rothery.

Subs: Hendrie, Thompson, Porritt, Atkinson, Dickinson, Hall, Stewart, Bleau, Boulding, Fell.

Barnsley:

Davies, Williams (Scott 67), Roberts, Nyatanga, Smith, Scowen, Maris (Ofori 78), Wilkinson, Winnall (Abbott 40), Watkins, Mawson (Templeton 73).

Subs:

Dibble, Gooda, Cowgill, Drennan.

Overall though another good run out and pre season isn’t really affected with losses, so even a simple draw brings additional positives.
