Barnsley head coach Jose Morais has given a good news update on defender Adam Jackson.

In Tuesday night’s one all draw with Hull City at the KCOM Stadium, Jackson was involved in a mid air clash with Jon Toral and both players needed lengthy treatment prior to be substituted, but speaking on Wednesday Morais explained that Jackson was quickly back to his best – albeit groggy – in the dressing room and there are no lasting concerns.

Jackson did lose consciouness on the pitch following the clash, but treatment from club staff and paramedics saw him quickly regain consciousness and following the full time whistle he was in the medical room talking to team mates and family.

Speaking to the Official Site Morais explained.

‘I was so sorry for that to happen to him. I`m sorry because it`s the health of a player and you get concerned about these situations. I`m sorry again because he really wanted to be on the pitch until the end of the game, but I am happy now because everything seems to be good. It looks like he is back to being healthy. I have had a chat with him and seen him smiling and eat. It makes me feel that he is now ok and I am happy for that. Our medical staff were excellent, they got on to see Adam straight away and helped him to regain consciousness. We`ll keep looking at Adam closely over the coming days and make sure he is ok, he is an important player for us.’

Having lost consciousness there is a clear Football Association procedure to follow now with the risk of concussions and he’s in good hands.

Morais also had positive words for Toral.

‘I don’t know the condition of Toral, I haven’t seen him, but I know it was a heavy collision for both players so we would like to send our best to him as well. Both players had to come off and it isn’t nice to see, I think it changed the game for the players out there and we hope both Adam and Jon recover quickly.’
