Gray To Pompey?

News reports are suggesting today that Barnsley striker Andy Gray could be on his way out of Oakwell soon.

The Star reports that the Scottish hitman may be leaving the club to join up with newly relegated Portsmouth as Reds boss Mark Robins looks to free up some cash to bolster his squad for the new season.

Gray made 31 appearances for the Reds last season including 20 starts, scoring 6 goals but according to reports Robins could be looking to offload the target man.

Personally I like Andy Gray, he proved himself to be a great target man winning a lot of long balls up the field from the ‘keeper, notched up a decent amount of goals from 20 starts considering that he never really got a regular run in the first eleven and always looked passionate and hard working. I would be very sorry to see him go.

Don’t panic yet, we are still under a transfer embargo. But you make him sound a good player gooder.

Encouraging that you’re not saying “glad to see the back of him”. As Dave says, this is far from a done deal, not least because of our own circumstances.

Nice idea but there’s a little itsy burst thing called a transfer embargo in place and since HMRC are using us as a pawn in their war on football it’s going to remain in place until this time in August; so don’t panic yet!

what do you pompey fans think of the signing though if it could happen?

If we get Andy Gray, will we also be lining up Chris Camara and Charlie Nicholas? Just kidding, never heard of THIS Andy Gray before, although to be fair my attention has mostly been on the Prem in recent years.
