I really felt that the reaction of Adam Hammill to being substituted last night was an absolute disgrace. Losing to Newcastle I can take but to see one of our players react like that really made me angry.

Hammill showed a lack of respect to the manager and also to his fellow players. Head Coach Paul Heckingbottom clearly isn`t happy with the incident and said that it is a team game and it isn`t about Hammill. I couldn`t agree more and if I were Hecky I wouldn`t even have in the squad for the next few games.

I don`t blame Hammill for not being happy at being taken off but he should be speaking to his manager about that in private and not reacting like that on the pitch. Maybe he thought how has Kent stayed on and I`m being taken off? Even so there was no excuse for his behaviour whatsoever.

The most disappointing thing for me is that it shows the great team spirit and bond that this team/squad/management team have/had is now in serious danger of falling apart and this is something that we need if we have any hope of staying in this league.

As for Hammill`s performances this season well in all honesty he has been poor all season and maybe that is partly why he reacted as he did last night.

I hate to say it after his performances last season but it looks to me as if he just isn`t good enough for Championship football which is why he ended up with us in the first place.

He doesn`t have the pace in this league and isn`t quite tricky enough to compensate for it. If we had any other wingers he would probably deserve dropping on form anyway never mind what happened last night.

I have heard many Barnsley fans defend him today but in my opinion there is no defence for his actions. Get him dropped and fined and hopefully he can come back with a better attitude and improved form.
