Hammill’s Final Farewell

At full time in the nPower Championship clash between Hull City and Barnsley, which ended 2-0 to the Tigers with Barnsley down to nine men, winger Adam Hammill threw his shirt into the throng of Barnsley supporters – a gesture notrmally saved until the end of the season.

The former Liverpool man was ineffective in the game against Hull City, with the Reds mustering up a mere three shots on target, but Hammill waved a prolonged goodbye to the supporters of Barnsley and has put it beyond any doubt that he will not be a Barnsley player for very much longer.

This leaves Mark Robins with a lot of work to do. His central defensive pairing of Stephen Foster and Jason Shackell will be suspended for next Saturday’s game against high-flying Swansea City and he will need to find an able replacement for Hammill who has surely played his last game for the Reds.
