Barnsley head coach Paul Heckingbottom has denied any fallout with summer signing George Moncur.

Hecky had the below to say when speaking to the media and the official website earlier:

‘There`s nothing at all in that. His dad came up last week and his family were concerned that he wasn`t playing. My argument was that the team`s doing great and you`ve to earn your way in to the team. But they wanted him to go out and play on loan. I didn`t, but it was then put to the club because they might see it as a way of recouping some money and then bringing someone in who will play, and that`s what we ended up doing.

‘It`s that simple really. I`m disappointed because I feel he should be here and fighting for a place but I also understand that as a footballer he wants to play games and in fact it`s encouraging that he does. Hopefully he goes there and plays 90 minutes every week, Saturday and Tuesday and when he comes back in January he`s ready for us and getting into our first team.`

Reading between the lines I don`t think Moncur will play for Barnsley again. Although Hecky mentions him coming back in January I think that the head coach is disappointed that he didn`t stay and fight for his place and I think the club are looking to recoup money on a player that they don`t think will become a regular starter.
