Following Barnsley`s 2 – 1 defeat at Huddersfield, head coach Paul Heckingbottom gave his reaction to the official club website:

‘It was a game of two halves; I was disappointed how we performed first half. The effort was there but the intensity wasn`t. With the ball we let ourselves down and didn`t retain possession up top and we didn`t capitalise on any counter-attacking opportunities. I felt we had three real good ones that we should have scored from.

‘Second half we imposed ourselves on the game and caused them problems and that`s why we`re disappointed to come away with nothing.

‘It was two fantastic finishes from them, that`s what we expect in this league. We know we`re up against teams that can do that.`

Again I feel that this is an honest assessment from our head coach and again he talks sense and doesn`t try to throw any blame at refs or make any excuses defeat.

I agree with the way he has summed the game up. We can`t win them all and I personally am happy with 6 points from our first four games. Hopefully now we can add another three to the tally with a win in our South Yorkshire derby against Rotherham.
