Barnsley secured a three-two win over Colchester in League 1 on Saturday, with the Reds holding off a fightback from the home side having been three-up.

Conor Hourihane had Barnsley ahead early on with Adam Hammill adding the second before the break when he celebrated his new deal with a goal.

When Newcastle loanee Ivan Toney headed in the third on the hour that seemingly made sure of the points.

However, George Moncur got Colchester back into the game at the midway point off the second half with Chris Porter getting a second three-minutes later but the U’s couldn’t find an equaliser.
